The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

When we were little my gran lived with us and on christmas morning we would come down and see santa's footprints on the stairs, the sherry and mincepies eaten by santa and the carrot gone, all grans idea.
One christmas just before my 6th birthday the next door neighbour was moaning to his wife to get out of bed, poor Dot ( my mum) was up the dinner was in the oven breakfast on the go the fire was lit and my dad was very ill, and his wife was being lazy, next minuet my mum is knocking on his door to come quick the chimmney was on fire ( he was a fireman ). I was so busy saving my brand new pram and gathering up my prezzies I got locked in the house and struggled out the back door down the steps and round to the front of the house, they hadnt even missed me!!! Sadly my dad died in the February so it became a very special chrismas for me.
My daughter is 12 now and we still put the sherry etc out but the footprints dont get left santa must have clan boots hse days !!!

Sorry boys. I burst out every now and again, but mostly manage to keep my enthusiasm to a dedicated thread on the other forum I inhabite until well into December.

Here's to a nice Indian summer!! Any ideas for an after work BBQ tomorrow? Last of the summer ones and given that rain is forecast for the weekend I want to take advantage
